Netizens Responds To Rumors Of Jun Ji Hyun Making A Return To Tv With “Kingdom” Prequel
Rumor has it that a “Kingdom” Prequel is on the way, this time with the phenomenal Jun Ji Hyun on the cast list.
Star News had claimed that the prequel would be a short film of 70 minutes and it was in the final stages of discussions. They also reported that filming for the Prequel was set and ready to begin in October.
Munhwa IIbo also reported that “Kingdom” was preparing to release a new Prequel but it’s cast list would include Korean Actress Jun Ji Hyun.
Jun Ji Hyun, female lead of the popular kdrama “Legends Of The Blue Sea” had made a surprise appearance at season two’s finale.
Munhwa IIbo’s report cited a source from “Kingdom” who seemed to confirm the claim that the Prequel would be centered around Jun Ji Hyun’s character, Ah Shin and how she became a warrior.
The source had stated
“It was difficult for the lead actors of the first two seasons of ‘Kingdom’ to immediately start filming for the third season due to scheduling conflicts, so the continuation of their story after season two will probably come in two or three years.” They added, “We will first be bringing the prequel story, where Jun Ji Hyun will be joined by a mostly-new cast of characters.”
In response to the rumors, Netflix’s “Kingdom” released an official statement.
“Nothing has been decided yet on future plans for ‘Kingdom’ There’s nothing we can confirm as of now, including the lead actors, screenwriter, or director. It hasn’t even been decided whether there will be a prequel or not.”
Which makes us wonder where the heck, the claimers are getting their rumors from or is Netflix’s “Kingdom” holding out on us.
Regardless of that, fans have already expressed their delight at the news, rumor or fact.
